I go to Carleen Tanner's Positive Parenting class on Thursdays - it's beyond amazing and gives me major motivation to be the best mom I can be. The motivation is at it's peak directly after class, so on Thursdays I am a pretty dang good mom. The goodness always fizzles and by next Wednesday I look forward to the upcoming boost.
So today was Thursday and after class I was in the mood to have some fun with my kids. It was fairly warm so I thought a picnic at the park was in order. However, by the time we swung by Wendy's and arrived at the park, I realized I was deceived by the weather. We lasted about 5 minutes before Paisley asked if we could eat in the car. My chili was keeping me warm so I had failed to notice that my girl's were shivering as they dipped their french fries.
So we had a picnic in the car:
And then we went through the car wash - which probably outranks the park on the fun scale anyways.
I really have been wanting to do some serious blogging but I have being doing a few other things instead:
*Crafting (for church not pleasure). This has inspired some deep thinking on my complicated relationship with crafts. Do I love them or hate them - I can't really decide. I love the finished product (most the time), but the mess (my mess in making them and the kid's mess they make since mom is distracted) drives me to the point of insanity. I admire people who can let go and be creative daily - I am not good at letting go so I limit my creativity.
*Blog-booking. I am putting the last two years into a book. This is how I do it. It isn't hard just time consuming when you're a little OCD about formatting.
*Wiping snot. It's a full-time job around here.
*Running. Yep - I guess I do remember how. And nothing like your husband peer-pressuring you into signing up for a half-marathon that is only 9 weeks away, to get your rear out the door in the morning.
*Clearing out the house and garage. If you come over, bolt down your stuff - the great purge of 2012 has begun.
*Holding this guy. We are going through a mama's boy stage - I've been blaming colds, teeth, and growing... but he's probably just spoiled. Like spoiled enough to get whipped cream squirted directly into his mouth.
*Watching Blake become 100% obsessed with his new hobby of growing stuff - I don't care too much as long as the girl's are helping him.
*And just trying my darnedest to make it a happy childhood around here complete with cardboard castles.

Ha ha!
My sister, Kim Atchley goes to that same class! You should meet her and be friends!
I love the picnic in the car and cardboard castles!
You are such an amazing job you should be teaching the class. Your kids are so lucky to have you.
Forget the parenting class...I just come on your blog and get inspired to be a better mom.
